CINELINK
Sarajevo Film Festival was established by Obala Art Centre in 1995 and
is already acknowledged as one of the most important film events in the
region. The First Sarajevo Film Festival, held in the besieged city
under constant bombardment, could have seemed more like a bizarre act
of resistance than a real film festival. However, the seriousness and
high quality of the first festival and its annual continuation proves
what it really was and is about. Over the course of its 9 days, the 11
th Sarajevo Festival was attended by more than 100,000 film lovers, 800
accredited guests, and 400 journalists who had a chance to see 170
films.
The Sarajevo Film Festival brings its local audiences the best in
international independent and commercial film production. At the same
time it provides a venue where new films from the region of Southeast
Europe can be seen. We continue to refine the Festival program in order
to fulfil one of our primary objectives—to encourage regional film
production and promotion. Competition program is main program of SFF
and it is a showcase of the feature, documentary and short films from
Slovenia , Croatia , Bosnia and Herzegovina , Serbia , Montenegro , FRY
Macedonia, Albania , Bulgaria , Romania , Hungary and Greece and Turkey
.
CineLink is the industry section of Sarajevo Film Festival, featuring
annual project development workshops and co-production market for
feature-length fiction films with potential for theatrical and TV
distribution, created by authors from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia and
Montenegro, with the award fund of up to EUR 40 000.
